Capturing a moment with my camera is a thrill; the inevitable delay that the analogue process demands before getting to see the image somehow adds to the buzz.

I take my photographs on an early 1970ā€™s fully manual Nikon F2 AS camera - using 35mm film - and print on fibre based paper. I love the depth of tone I can achieve using this paper; it can be incredibly rich and accentuate the contrast which Iā€™m always looking for.

It is important to me that I compose my photographs through the viewfinder of my camera, and not by cropping the image in the darkroom; the black border surrounding the pictures can only be achieved this way. It also has the added benefit of giving an edge to an image that could otherwise be visually lost in the frame.

Although each print size is limited to an edition of 10, each one is unique as the printing process means that an image cannot be identically replicated.
